I always find myself trying to say something profound about posts like this one, but simply put, this is just one of those sessions I absolutely love! I’m so excited about the way these images turned out. Caroline’s mom contacted me about doing her six-month photos (one of my favorite ages to photograph, hands down!) and we set up a lifestyle shoot in their home so we could document her sweet nursery and get some beautiful images of this sweet girl. The quilt you’ll see in these pictures served as the inspiration piece for Caroline’s nursery, and everything tied together so well.

Connecting with clients, whether through weddings or family sessions, is a big part of why I do what I do. Nic and I met the Rockwells through church when we were both fairly newlyweds in our pre-kids days. At our shoot, I had so much fun sharing stories with them and talking about how much life changes when a baby is added to your family! Rockwells, I hope y’all enjoy these images as much as I have. I’m thrilled that you’ll have these memories of such a precious and fun age!

I’ve neglected the blog lately, but I’ve realized that in doing so I’m actually neglecting to share some of my favorite work! If you enjoy seeing more photos, you’re in luck! I’ll be sharing several favorite sessions as I gear up for the busy wedding and engagament season. This session is one of my favorites from the fall, and this family is the best! They are beautiful and authentic, and Nic and feel so blessed to have gotten to know them as friends. I’m thrilled to share some of their gorgeous images with you, and they showcase what I love most about outdoor family sessions.

If you’ve hung around this blog for any time at all, you have probably met my good friend, Chandra (the gal behind C. Jayne Teach) and of course Lincoln! The most recent addition to Chandra’s beautiful family is this sweet little one — baby Stella. She was born in late January, and I was honored to document some of her first days in her home with this family of four. Chandra did a beautiful job with Stella’s nursery, and I love all the sweet, girly details she incorporated! Enjoy this peek into cute baby snuggles and polka dots… some of my very favorite things! 😉

As a creative small business owner, it’s such a blessing to have friends in the industry… those people who get you and what you’re doing. These are the people you ask for advice, who help you bounce around ideas, and who share great tips and tricks. They are your cheerleaders and you get to be theirs! I was all ears when my friend Melissa told me she was launching a new website for her floral design business. I always have a million questions when it comes to these sorts of things! But, I was even more thrilled when she asked if I would work with her on new headshots for the website. I was already loving the gorgeous site she put together, the white space, the clean look, and of course the beautiful florals! It was so much fun to capture some action shots of her working with flowers, as well as a few professional head shots to use. Here are a few favorites from my session with Melissa.

Thank you so much, Melissa, for the opportunity to work with you! I’m so thrilled for you and your recent launch of the new website!

Snow Day!

February 27, 2015 — Leave a comment

We didn’t have a hat that fit, or the matchiest outfit. We did have an inch of snow and a few minutes of sun, so we quickly created a fun little snow day photo session with Rachel (and Bear) yesterday. I’m all in favor of working with what you have and documenting the little moments, because it’s the memories that count. Here are a few favorites from our time in the snow.

I’m so thrilled to share just a peek at Adrienne and Garrett’s wedding day! These few photos don’t even begin to describe how fun this couple is together and how great their Virginia wedding was. I shared a little more about them when I shared their engagement session back in the summer. Nic and I were so excited to travel to Virginia to shoot their wedding, and we even turned the trip into a little bit of a family vacation, visiting with friend all along the way. Needless to say, our hearts were full when we returned home from this trip. The forecast called for a 100% chance of rain for nearly two weeks leading up to the wedding day. Adrienne and Garrett had great attitudes and we knew we’d have some beautiful images either way! Thankfully, our prayers were answered and the rain let up for more than enough time to get some beautiful outdoor images. Enjoy this quick look into their beautiful day! Adrienne and Garrett, I cannot wait to see where the Lord takes you two together. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day! :)

Sharing a sweet newborn session today! I am always honored when friends tell their friends about Teasley Photography, and baby Luke’s parents happen to know some great friends of ours! Yay!!! I’ve shared this before, but since becoming a mom, newborn sessions have so much more meaning to me! I loved meeting Luke and his parents (and awesome pups as well). His blue nursery is simple and meaningful with family heirlooms and pieces all around. Enjoy some favorites from our session.

On the Farm

January 7, 2015 — Leave a comment

Some friends of mine recently moved, and I’m so glad Rachel and I ventured out to the farm earlier this fall before they did! This is the same location where I did Farm Mini Sessions, and a number of other sessions you’ll see soon. I found these and had to share!

Merry Christmas! We are taking a little break to enjoy some time with family celebrating the birth of our Savior this season! But, while we are away, I wanted to leave you with a few fun images from our trip to a Christmas Tree Farm earlier this season. You’ll notice a couple of hair-in-the-face and tearful real-life images. Let these encourage you that it happens to all of us, even photographers! Enjoy these days with those you love. We hope and pray you have a blessed Christmas season, and we look forward to the exciting family sessions and weddings that the new year will bring!

Did you see yesterday’s Franklin Farm Mini Sessions? More fall mini sessions headed your way! This year I decided to schedule a few “half days” of mini sessions… this way, I did not lose a whole day, but was able to still serve lots of cleints. Also, mini sessions were 15 minutes this year, aside from just a few that went slightly longer. For the most part, that amount of time worked great! There’s usually one or two family members who don’t enjoy having pictures taken, so they may not be able to last for a full session without going crazy. With mini sessions, they are over before you know it! Clients each got 10+ edited images from these sessions, and while mini sessions don’t allow for the candids and laughs we get in a full session, you can see that we managed to get quite a few laughs, giggles, and silly faces. Enjoy some of my personal favorites and highlights from these Brentwood, TN mini sessions in October.

Do you love mini sessions? Would you like to see them offered more during the year? If so, leave a comment and let me know!

This fall… it’s been so crazy and such a blessing! I’m honored that friends and clients entrust me with their family photos. I’ve always said that mini sessions are a great way to get just a few images as a memory of this season in your family’s life. They are perfect for that one Christmas card photo of all your family together, and I am always, always a fan of parents being in photos with their kids. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite images from each of our mini sessions on a farm in Leiper’s Fork, just outside of Franklin, TN. This farm is one of my all-time favorite locations, and I am excited to share even more full sessions from this location in the days ahead! Enjoy these mini session highlights!

More sweet families and beautiful children headed your way! I love this family. We’ve had the honor of being in church small group with them for several years and have loved getting to know them! In fact, you may remember sweet Leah’s newborn session that happened just over a year ago. She celebrated her first birthday in September, and we did a little family session to celebrate. This session took place in a lovely backyard in Brentwood, and I love the way these turned out. Here are a few favorites… TeasleyPhotography_0027.jpg
And, of course, big sister may or may not have been performing songs from Frozen during this entire family session! It was quite the entertainment. So much fun!

So excited to share this sweet session with you! Gabby Jo is growing so fast… in fact I just photographed her 9-month baby session, and she is a doll! Here are a few favorites from her 6-month session with her family at Crockett Park.

I recently shared Wyatt’s First Birthday Party, and at the party, Wyatt’s mom asked me which type of photography was my favorite to capture. I told her that while I truly love weddings and being a part of a couple’s big day most of all, when it comes to families, milestone sessions are my favorite. I love one year portraits and two year portraits because I get to document a little one doing what they do best: playing, laughing, and loving on their family. No, they are not always perfectly behaved, and not every session is easy, but every session is genuine and fun!

I was so excited that following that party conversation, Wyatt’s mom booked a session with me to document him turning one. This was earlier in the fall when mosquitoes were still out and we were all sweating like crazy, but these guys were such troopers! Even Wyatt loved dressing up and playing in the park despite the super warm temps. Here are a few favorites from our session at Ellington Agricultural Center.

Wyatt’s First Birthday Party

December 16, 2014 — 1 Comment

I love being a family photographer and capturing memories of special times in a family’s legacy. The first birthday is such a milestone, and I believe it’s just as much of a “three cheers, we made it 12 months!” for the parents as it is for the little one. Early this fall, Wyatt had a fun sock monkey themed first birthday party in his family’s home! The decorations were perfect and of course he was the cutest little monkey. Be on the lookout for more to come from Wyatt’s one year portrait session!

Confession: Haley getting married means I officially feel old! I had the privilege of getting to know Haley when her family moved to Birmingham and she was in about the 5th grade. As a college student, I led her small group for a couple of years, babysat Haley and her brother, and enjoyed getting to know her sweet family. Now, it is such an honor to watch her grow up into a beautiful bride to be. She and Justin met at church right around the time I moved away, and they have been dating since high school. I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes them as they pursue graduate school and life as newlyweds.

For this engagement session, we met up in downtown Nashville so we could document their engagement alongside the beautiful Nashville skyline. The light was gorgeous, as you can see below. Haley and Justin, I’m so excited for your Birmingham wedding! I’m a firm believer that the marriage should be more beautiful than the wedding, and I can’t wait to see where marriage takes y’all together.

November 2014 Goals

November 1, 2014 — Leave a comment

Happy November! I love the beautiful season of autumn and all the amazing colors it brings. November is going to be a fun but crazy month around these parts. In just a couple of weeks we will celebrate Rachel’s first birthday and I cannot believe it’s already been nearly a year since God blessed us with the birth of this little one. For this month, I hope to keep the goals simple, but there are quite a few exciting things happening! Here’s to a month of thanksgiving and celebration.

  • Photograph lots more beautiful families.
  • Attend a conference for me.
  • Plan and host Rachel’s first birthday party (keeping it small with just family).
  • Host cousins visiting from out of state.
  • Celebrate Thanksgiving with family.
  • Keep a thankfulness journal.
  • Catch up with editing and organizing pictures from Rachel’s first year. Print and archive some favorites.
  • Continue to document our home building adventures.
  • Visit a Christmas Tree Farm

Did you catch one of my favorite recent family sessions and of course Rachel in the Fall?
What about this beautiful Birmingham engagement session?

Rachel in the Fall

October 30, 2014 — 1 Comment

With the leaves changing quite beautifully and the 80 degree temps we’ve had, I decided to take Rachel outside and do a quick little fall shoot before it rained and turned cold. These shots were all taken in Nic’s parents’ back yard and front yard. For any photographers reading this, these first several were shot with the 135L, and the last two were shot with the 35L to show off not only Rachel but the beautiful tree behind her, too! I love the leaves that got stuck in her feet :) aaaaand that I caught her picking her nose! 😉

I’m so excited to share this beautiful fall session with y’all! If there were ever a family session that really showcases my photography style, this would be it. I love everything about this… the neutral colors that allow the family’s faces to shine, the open field, the beautiful light, and of course the fun personalities. Hope you enjoy this one! It was a blast to photograph the Goggans family.TeasleyPhotography_0252.jpg
